Steel & Chrome Parade, a Poem, by Peter Menkin
Sunday, September 14th, 2008 Steel & Chrome Parade a poem by Peter Menkin parade of Town & County people and cars painted with chromed tailpipe was a delight for the old Grant Street – mil long parade. A certificate of American history, 55 Chevy combined with the red lights again, like a jet's nose. Sculpted Shelby Cobra, a popular car from Hollywood in the middle of Rolling Thunder by the local police patrol in the late model fast pursuit vehicles, complete with hoses. The girl sitting next to guys in the seats is also a Ford Mustang (valued at $ 20,000) bucket – thigh thigh edge and move up the rod. A melodic sound of the piston, race, sitting in dark clouds of exhaust after sunset, are the masses, make and gape at the industrial promise and freedom, gives the car. Sex, steel, color is a combination of a hot June evening, county arousal. In order to attract mating calls and knocking, teen and adult attitudes matched moments with some families on their social status in a brown 48 Plymouth Coupe. What next, a festive company as a community dance in the thunder and success. Glory, excitement! Summertime Summertime Star a song with the parade of colors out of the car show and ostentation. A cultural dance at the wheel of the night, and tomorrow on normal roads and driveways. This is an endless parade of selected and polished pets, including the Chevrolet 409, the search for a woody trailer or something smooth ride is. We have 21 majority met and we are still back in the parade. Audio reading of the poem reads this, the author, the future poet Peter Menkin: http://www. Archives. org/details/ChromeAndSteelParade2000ByPeterMenkinThis poem from 2000 recently submitted to the Academy of American Poets writers workshop received few comments, I am sorry to say. But I like the work, and here it is from its original form, almost eight years ago, when the car parade took place in Novato, California (Marin County), north of San Francisco. This note to a fellow poet, had written on the authors' workshop from me: I had an idea that not every car parades. The man was in Novato, California (approximately 45,000) in place, and it was never in order, and even old cars. They are amazing! So many people lining the street for this popular event, it is like a city festival. Novato is in Marin County north of San Francisco about 30 miles or so. I think they are in the parade every year. This year I have to go to the car parade, and I was impressed and reminded us there are in America, something that "car culture." Thus the poem. The notes Photo: Pastor Richard Helms, rector of the Church of the Savior, Mill Valley, California has made this image and leave it on my blog. The blog is primarily spiritual and religious poetry, and although the poem written today is for Chrome and Steel Parade, I thought, father Richard snapshot is a good choice because it shows the flowers and chromium. Readers of this blog have probably noticed that most of the photos accompanying the poems shows a flower or flowers. So, here is a flower shoots, the location of snapshot unknown. As a PS, I attended Church of our Savior Peter Menkin, Mill Valley, California, is located in Marin County north of San Francisco. By the way, shows the man at the piano and the poem illustrate the Reverend Richard Helms at work. The title is "Richard on the piano." Prokofiev: Sonata No. 3 in A, Op. 28 Liszt: La Campanella Chopin: Etudes Op. 10, No. 1, 2, 4 to 5, Polonaise in A major, Op. 53, Prelude in G Debussy: Estampes "
